Gryffindor - 14 year Morgan Gelding

Gryff is an *obviously* stunning, 14 year Morgan gelding. He is extremely friendly, and loves people of all sizes. He gets along well in a herd and fits in somewhere in the middle. His ground manners are amazing and he’s a calm gentleman.

Gryffs feet were awful when he arrived, and we are still working on getting them to a healthy place with monthly trims. He has a history of foundering, so pasture grass will not be his friend, and he will need a closely monitored diet. Gryffs blood work came back that he does not have cushings, and his metabolic syndrome is being maintained.

Gryff is broke to ride, and was easy to handle the first time we saddled him up. We have only had him ridden 3 times, very minimally, so we can’t be sure how much he knows, but he was very smart and responsive. Currently he is not totally sound under saddle, but we have hopes that with continued rehab that he can get there, even for light riding.

EDIT UPDATE January 24, 2024

Today we took Gryff for another test ride, and he is significantly more sound under saddle than he was months ago! Though he’s not 100% at a trot, the monthly trims have made a huge difference, and he has made major improvement!

Gryff is an absolute gem of a horse, and any family would be so lucky to have him! All he needs is someone to give him continued proper diet & care for his feet.
