Casimir

Casimir is a sweet Clydesdale gelding who just arrived, severely emaciated. He will be seeing our vet asap and won’t be available for adoption until healthy.

Iris and Sybil

Iris came to us Fall 2024, with her baby Mira at side. Both of them completely un handled and terrified. Iris has gotten much more comfortable around people and let’s us get very close, and will come for food. Iris was already rebred, and baby Sybil was born on June 9, 2025. Neither will be accepting applications until Sybil is older and weaned

Dakota and Faith

Dakota is a young mare, under 10 years old. Dakota had recently weaned a baby, prior to arriving at HHERS. She was confirmed bred again shortly after. On June 19, 2025, Dakota gave birth to baby Faith. Neither willl be accepting applications until Faith is older and weaned.

Esme & Matteo

Esme and her colt, Matteo recently arrived (June 2025). Esme is very curious, but very nervous being touched. She came emaciated, while Matteo is Ribby with a pointy top line. Esme is said to be only 3 years old, just a baby herself. Neither will be accepting applications until Matteo is older and weaned

Lilly

Lilly is a mini whose about 5 to 6 years old. She has faced severe neglect and we had to saw off about 1 foot of hoof. She is being rehabbed with her friend Violet, who she came in with.

Violet “violence”

Violet, like Lilly, has faced extreme neglect. Her feet are a mess, she’s sore, she has dwarfism, leaving her with a significant underbite, horrible teeth, a spinal deformity - and a grade 4/5 heart murmur. We are taking her rehabilitation day by day right now.

Kiwi mini pony mare

Kiwi is an 11 year old mini mare. She is bonded to Abbigale, our senior pregnant mare. Kiwis adoption is on hold due to her being Abbigales companion.

Abbigale and Roo

Abbigale is in her mid to late 20s. She was confirmed bred after arriving. On June 7 2025, she gave birth to her little colt, Roo. Abbigale is part of our sanctuary program, and Roo will not be accepting applications until weaning.

Adena- 24 yr Mare

Adena, like Paedyn, has been used as a brood mare. We’re told she is a driving horse. Adena is Paedyns best friend, and is very protective over her. These girls were both loaded onto the local horse trader/meat buyers truck together. They are very bonded.

19 year gelding

Dobby arrived with Gryff, who is a sanctuary senior here. He is not available for adoption at this time. Dobby has had some meetings with children with special needs, and is starting to visit our local senior care facility!

Gracie- 23year Mare

Gracie was sent to auction for meat only. While at auction, she ran into a bolt on a panel and got a hole through her chest. She has a very significant melanoma , and because of that, is a sanctuary horse

Gryff- 23year gelding

Gryffindor spent 9+ months rehabbing his feet after he arrived severely foundered. Gryff is sound now, but with his age and metabolic disease, Gryff is now a sanctuary horse

Elide - 26 yr Mare

Elide came to us from the meat pen emaciated. Her whole life she’s been a baby factory. Ellie is very fear reactive when being caught, and often tries to bite or kick. Once caught she totally settles, but she’s obviously had a rough life.

Apple - 30yr+ gelding

Apple arrived over a year ago, he was emaciated and has gained weight amazingly. Apple is on daily previcox but feeling pretty great! He has been diagnosed with shivers which is being managed currently. Him and Rigby have become best buds

Jack - senior gelding

Jack is a new intake who arrived with Ringo. Both senior boys are undergoing vetting.
