Nevada
My name is Nevada , and I certainly don’t need to tell you, but I will…. But I’m sort of the most beautiful 4-5 year old
Unfortunately, my start in life wasn’t the kindest to me. I’m incredibly jumpy with new things, though I do settle very quickly. The girls here at HHERS say the worst , is actually getting the halter on. But the teenager who helps me trust, has realized I feel the safest, if you catch me with a lead rope around my neck first. In a paddock, it doesn’t take more than a couple minutes as long as I know you!
I lead easily, but can be quite nervous moving into new situations, especially if you’re not one of my trusted people. Slow and steady to help me gain confidence! I had a bit of a panic with the farrier to begin with, but once I realized she was helping me (and she moved patient and slow), I stood nicely for my trim on all 4s. I can lunge, and I am Doing ground work to help me be a brave girl. I was good for the vet (some grain helps when you want to poke me!), and really try to be such a good girl! I am vaccinated, dewormed, vet checked & had a dental.
I really would love a home that understands I need time to decompress, and is willing to help me continue being brave on the ground.
Oh, did I mention I LOVE cookies!? I love when the kids bring me them, as long as they move slowly and don’t all come at me at once. I’ve been around dogs and just ignore them. I also stand tied.
